Brian Kilkelly

Brian Kilkelly is the Chief Executive and founding partner of World Cities Network. He is passionate about bringing business and city leaders together to discover ways to make our cities more sustainable and resilient. Through the network he delivers roundtables, workshops, and forums globally to support city leaders as they plan, collaborate, and deliver urban development projects. In addition to World Cities Network, Brian is supporting the launch of the new initiative, Eurbanlab funded by the European Climate Knowledge and Innovation Community (Climate-KIC).
Previously, Brian was Senior Vice President, Global Partnerships at the Urban Land Institute in London. During his five years at the Institute, he created the Urban Investment Network - a public-private collaboration platform that attracted cities, developers, and investors from across Europe. He has participated, delivered, or chaired meetings for leading organisations including the European Investment Bank, EU-China Urbanization Leadership Programme, UK Government, World Bank, and many leading private corporations.
Brian also has a wealth of development experience from not-for-profit organisations such as Age UK, Sightsavers International and the Royal Academy of Arts, London. He enjoyed a successful commercial career whilst working for Marconi in Europe and for Ericsson in Asia Pacific. He is a Fellow of the London based RSA - Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce. He is a graduate of the University of Birmingham, where he was awarded an Honours degree in Physics. He lives near London with his wife and children.
